Frequently Asked Questions

Why are music service subscriptions for business more expensive than consumer subscriptions?

When music is played on the premises of a business for the enjoyment of patrons and others, this is deemed a “public performance” by the music artist, for which a royalty fee must be paid to performance rights organizations such as ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC.

For the convenience of our business customers, Dynamic Media includes these royalties in the price of our commercial subscription plans, and pays the required royalties directly to the performance rights organizations on behalf of the businesses. Paying these companies directly can cost you over $1000 annually. Dynamic Media offers substantial savings by covering your royalty payments and providing a great background music service for one low monthly price.

I want SiriusXM Music for Business in more than one location. Do I need separate accounts for each?

Can I use my consumer SiriusXM subscription in my business?

SiriusXM offers both consumer and commercial subscription plans. Only SiriusXM Music for Business, the commercial service, includes the required payments of public performance royalties to rights organizations such as ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC that represent the music copyright holders. These royalties are included in our commercial subscription plans. With SiriusXM you get a unique music service that helps create an engaging and entertaining environment for your business, and we pay the music royalties for businesses that subscribe to SiriusXM Music for Business.

Can I block stations that don’t work for my business?

The SiriusXM Internet for Business Radio has a control feature which will allow managers to lock access to channels. A 4-digit code controls access to the locked channel or locked category. When the user browses a category, the locked channel will have an L displayed to the right of the channel name. If the user attempts to tune to a locked channel, they will be prompted to enter the 4-digit security code. When the correct code is entered, the user will be able to tune to the channel.
